Asian Family Services (AFS)

Asian Family Services (AFS) is a preventive service to help keep children and their families together and avoid the placement of children in foster care. AFS addresses the multi-level needs of Asian-American families, especially recent Chinese immigrants. The program provides support and case management services to Asian American families. Our service includes: crisis intervention, home visiting, individual and family counseling, parenting skills training, entitlement advocacy, parenting support groups, family recreational activities, community education, and information and referral. Our professional staff consists of bi- and tri-lingual and bi-cultural social workers. Our services are free and available citywide and targeted for families with at least one child under the age of 18 who is at risk, as well as pregnant women.
