Garment Industry Early Childhood Center

The Garment Industry Early Childhood Center on Christie Street in Chinatown offers year-round, full-day programming for children who are 2.6 years old to 5 years old. The Garment Industry Early Childhood Center provides a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate program which fosters active learning, support for the whole child and a child centered environment.

Our programs foster creativity, embrace teamwork, strive for excellence, respect and support our families and are committed to service at all levels. The Garment Industry Early Childhood Center respects and appreciates diversity; while our staff actively listens and seeks to understand; communicates openly and productively; and uses resources creatively and responsibly to provide high level early childhood education to young children. .

Centered around the Creative Curriculum, as well as the New York state and city standard of childcare to the utmost degree, The Garment Industry Early Childhood Center is one of CPC's oldest child care centers - created originally for the children of local garment workers. We provide children pre-school with our four classrooms and one Universal Pre-Kindergarten classroom; as well as a beautiful rooftop playground with a wide view of surrounding Chinatown and Lower Manhattan.
