Asian Child Care Resource and Referral Program
Asian Child Care Resource & Referral (ACCR) is located at CPC’s Manhattan Community Center. ACCR is also part of the New York City Child Care Resource & Referral Consortium that is composed of four culturally diverse agencies. ACCR’s staff members are multi-cultural and multi-lingual in English, Chinese, Spanish, and Korean.
Asian Child Care Resource & Referral’s service goals are to (1) assist families to find quality child care, provide parent education, information, and referrals; (2) increase the supply and improve the quality of family child care and early childhood education programs through technical assistance, coaching, training, and healthcare consultancy.
ACCR provides parents with information on quality and affordable child care and assists them in navigating NYC’s complex child care system. Additionally, to increase the supply and improve the quality of child care services, ACCR offers orientations, training, technical assistance, grants, healthcare consultancy, and infant toddler services to child care programs.
Recent program impacts include: • An increase in funding from the United Federation of Teachers and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, expanding ACCR’s quality training courses in English, Chinese, Spanish, and Korean. • A renewal of the highly acclimated National Quality Assurance Certification from the Child Care Aware of America. • 3,456 hours of intensive and assessment-based technical assistance to child care programs and early childhood educators. • Health care consultancy and medication administration training to over 153 child care programs and centers.
