2018-12-20 CPC Chinatown Senior Center Holiday 2018 - Volunteer Awards

On December 20, 2018, CPC's Chinatown Senior Center hosted a Holiday celebration, which featured performances from the center's dace group, singing group, a fashion show, and an award presentation for the "Good Service to the Seniors" award. The "Good Service to the Senior" award is an annual tradition for the center as a way to show our deep appreciation for our volunteers and their commitment to helping their peers. Volunteers are needed in all aspects of the center from participation in the program's Advisory Board to leading activities to assisting with lunch number distribution.

This year's award went to Mr. King Lun Tam (center right) and Mr. Gan Xiong Yao (center left). Mr. Tam is over 90 years old and has been volunteering with the program for 20 years. Mr. Yao has been volunteering with the program for 10 years. Both gentlemen's volunteer milestones were honored during the award presentation by CPC President & CEO, Wayne Ho.

On December 19, 2018, the center was also visited by students from Hostos Community College who sung Christmas carols for the seniors brining great holiday cheer to the center.
