CPC Chief Strategy Officer Brian Chen Comments on Chinatown New Business Growth

Brian Chen, CPC's Chief Strategy Officer, is quoted in an article by NY City Lens covering the recent opening of Uncle Lou’s Restaurant, owned by Louis Wong in Chinatown.

Commenting on ways new businesses like Uncle Lou’s can maximize their profits and growth, Brian pointed to digital communications as the key.  “So whether or not you actually digitize the products and services online, or you just utilized platforms like social media platforms, those platforms that you believe consumers would best get a sense of visibility of your service or business or offering,” said Brian Chen.

Chinatown businesses have suffered under the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rise in anti-Asian hate crimes. In 2021,17 restaurants and 139 ground-floor businesses in Chinatown permanently closed. It is heartwarming to see new local businesses taking root and rebuilding the Chinatown landscape despite the continued risks.
