CPC Supports New Law to Better Protect New Yorkers from Discrimination

On December 29th, CPC Chief Program Officer Edgar Pereira spoke at a press conference on a bill signed by Governor Kathy Hochul that protects New Yorkers of all backgrounds from discrimination. He thanked Governor Hochul, Senator John Liu, and Assembly Member Catalina Cruz and highlighted the importance of treating all New Yorkers equally, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.

“All New Yorkers should be treated with dignity, respect, and fairness, regardless of their citizenship and immigration status,” said Wayne Ho, President and CEO of CPC in a press release. “We thank Governor Hochul for signing this bill into law to protect New Yorkers of all backgrounds from discrimination, and we are grateful for State Senator Liu and Assembly Member Catalina Cruz for their leadership. We look forward to continuing to work with community partners and elected officials to make our city a safe and welcoming place for everyone.”
