On June 2nd, CPC Early Childhood Learning and Wellness Services (ECLW) held their annual department-wide professional development day, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. The event served as a platform for fostering a culture of continuous learning, empowering staff members to expand their expertise in the crucial areas of child care and mental health, and ensuring the highest quality of care and support for children and families in their community.

The event included community building activities, program presentations, breakout sessions, and trainings on the latest developments in the childcare and mental health fields. The day ended with an insightful presentation by Dr. Thomas Kui, Psychiatric Consultant for ECLW, who spoke about ways to outreach to the Chinese community regarding mental health, potential barriers, and ways to prevent burnout amongst social workers.

Thank you to Pik Kam So, Director of Human Resources, and Suzan Lam, Talent Development Manager, for facilitating a workshop on effective communication across generations.
