CPC Holds Dedication Ceremony to Celebrate the Newly Renamed Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs

Ho was a kind and compassionate individual who dedicated her life to the community

New York, NY The Chinese-American Planning Council (CPC) held a dedication ceremony today to name the Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs. Family and friends gathered to honor the legacy of Josephine Ho, who devoted three decades to CPC and the community before her passing in 2019.

Located at 55-11 97th Street in Corona, Queens, the community residence provides around-the-clock care for six individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and ensures each resident lives with dignity and safety through an individualized plan. As a long-serving member of CPC’s Board of Directors, Josephine’s tireless advocacy played a pivotal role in securing the group home.

“The Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs is a living tribute to a remarkable individual who poured her heart into the community. We are grateful to the Ho Family for entrusting us with the honor of preserving her memory and commitment to supporting our most vulnerable community members,” said Wayne Ho, President & CEO of CPC.

Josephine's influence reached far beyond CPC. As the Executive Director of the New Jersey Chinese-American Chamber of Commerce, she helped cultivate an environment that left a profound impact on the Asian American communities in New Jersey and Metro New York. Her leadership was recognized with awards from the National Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship and the New Jersey Chapter of Overseas Chinese Association.

"In the spirit of Josephine M. Ho's unwavering compassion and dedication, and with heartfelt gratitude to CPC and its dedicated staff, the Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs stands as a beacon of hope, a testament to the enduring power of love, compassion, and community. Together, we honor her memory and thank CPC for their unwavering commitment to making this milestone a reality, ensuring her legacy continues to touch lives in need, especially the most vulnerable among us," said the Ho Family.
