On September 15th, parents from the CPC Families Advocating for Individual Rights initiative (CPC FAIR) met with Council Member Sandra Ung for a conversation on how to better support Chinese immigrant families who have members with special needs.

The group discussed language access gaps and the need to strengthen workforce development programs for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) community members, among other issues. Parents also shared information about the recently launched CPC FAIR community survey, developed to assess and address the challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.

Now in its third year, CPC FAIR is a parent-led group that advocates for Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals living with developmental disabilities and their families.
