On January 20th, Luther Flurry, CPC's Chief Financial Officer, served as a panelist at the recent Nonprofit BoardCon conference hosted by New York Nonprofit Media. The event convened executive leaders and board members from across the state to focus on strengthening board-staff collaboration for greater organizational impact. Luther joined leaders from major social service organizations and financial and advisory firms for a panel titled "Board Responsibilities & Training 101." The discussion centered on the legal and ethical duties of nonprofit board members, including fiduciary oversight, mission stewardship, regulatory compliance, and practical governance skills. The session provided attendees with insights into effective board leadership, strategic questioning, and cultivating a positive board culture.
