On May 11th, CPC Brooklyn hosted our Annual Education Resource Fair in partnership with A-Plus Academy and Academic Approach, at PS 310. Our Education Fair. Our Event provides education resources for all ages, from UPK to Adult ESL.
Saturday, May 4th was a very exciting day for seven children from CPC Chrystie Street School-Age Child Care Center. Surely, the force was with them as they competed in the 22nd Annual Cullman Rookie Chess Tournament and won the first place team trophy!
College transition is a stressful stage for any young person, but how would the experience differ for youth coming from a minority background? Or from an immigrant household? Or as a first-generation college student?
The interactive workshops included engaging videos, sugary drink ranking and matching games in which participants had to guess how many grams of sugar are in different drinks, and even a Kahoot! quiz game.
In April, Carlyn Cowen, CPC's Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, and Bryan Lucero, Program Director of CPC LEAD, graduated from Coro New York Leadership Center's Immigrant Civic Leadership Program.
