Our Community, Our Stories – CPC Supplies Resources and Guidance to Thrive: Cui Ni Deng

The CPC Leadership Council has been actively reaching out to recent community members, past staff and program alumni who are eager to share how CPC had a positive influence on their lives growing up, and who are now interested in giving back to their community. Our tenth community story features Cui Ni Deng. An essential worker, Cui Ni Deng worked diligently and compassionately, caring for her client(s) despite the many unknowns New Yorkers faced in the spring of 2020.

CPC Celebrates the Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a culturally significant holiday celebrated by Chinese, Vietnamese, and other Asian communities. CPC community members enjoyed annual Mid-Autumn Festival activities including celebratory gatherings and hundreds of mooncakes. Many thanks to our donors, supporters, and partners in making the festival a special one.

Yellow Whistle Distribution at Hong Ning Housing for the Elderly

On August 12, 2021, staff and Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) interns at Hong Ning Housing for the Elderly distributed over 300 whistles and hand sanitizers to elderly residents and home care attendants.

Residents of CPC Individual Residential Alternatives (IRA) at the Josephine M. Ho Community Residence for Special Needs recently enjoyed a day at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park. Residents have been enjoying a series of outings throughout the summer.

CPC Promotes Excluded Workers Fund with State Senator Myrie

On August 23rd, CPC worked with State Senator Zellnor Myrie and Center for Family Life to do outreach on the Excluded Workers Fund (EWF). If you need information or assistance on applying to EWF, please email achen6@cpc-nyc.org. CPC also joined Senator Myrie this month while he conducted outreach to local businesses to hear about the impacts of the last year on businesses.
