Congratulations to Community Members Who Passed Their Naturalization Exams

While we acknowledge the history of naturalization exams as an institutional barrier for immigrants, CPC Brooklyn Community Services Office for New Americans wishes to express our support and congratulate our community members who have passed their exams! Ms. Wu and Mr. Weng participated as students in CPC Brooklyn Community Services Office for New Americans classes and were sworn in as U.S. citizens in late 2020.

Prior to submitting their Application for Naturalization, both students attended CPC Brooklyn Community Services Naturalization Classes and continued to re-enroll in the classes to further prepare for their exam. Their determination and dedication, in and outside of the classroom, greatly increased their proficiency and pushed them towards a path of success! Through hard work and encouragement from our instructors, Ms. Wu and Mr. Weng were able to successfully pass their exams on the first try.

In addition to being newly sworn in U.S. Citizens, Ms. Wu's daughter and Mr. Weng's daughter both have derived citizenship and are also now U.S. Citizens. CPC Brooklyn Community Services Office for New Americans were able to also help them apply for their Certificate of Citizenship.

We encourage all eligible community members to join our Free Online Citizenship Class and start their path towards becoming a U.S. Citizen. For more information on our classes or on USCIS application preparation, please reach out to Shuping Deng, ONA Program Supervisor at (917) 528 - 3273 or at sdeng@cpc-nyc.org.
