A roundtable discussion to address issues faced by Asian American social work and helping professionals was held on Friday, November 16th, at the Grand Street Settlement Essex Crossing Community Center. The panel featured several nonprofit social work leaders.
On Saturday, November 9th, 2019, CPC Brooklyn Community Services Senior Service Dance Group joined the 10th New York Immigration Day dance competition hosted by Singtao Daily, Healthfirst, and Maimonides Medical Center.
CPC Brooklyn Community Services held its last class for the Fall Naturalization Class. Quarterly Naturalization classes are held in partnership with Office for New Americans (ONA) Opportunity Center. Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 marks the end of this class cycle.
CPC traveled to Washington, DC with the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC) on November 12th to join a nation-wide march. While in DC, staff also accepted the 2019 Democracy Champion Award on behalf of the Let NY Vote Coalition.
On November 13th, Assembly Member Ron Kim and NY State Senator Julia Salazar were joined by CPC in addition to other advocates to announce their Inclusive Value Ledger (IVL) Campaign, the nation's first public payment system.
